Teen Services proudly announced Mariangela Bucci of Bermuda High School as the Outstanding Teen of 2011 on the evening of March 19th at the Fairmont Hamilton Princess Hotel.  Miss Bucci has "earned college credits at Harvard University, is proficient in Italian, plays guitar and has shadowed surgeons at the King Edward VII Memorial Hospital - all before  [being] old enough to vote" (Royal Gazette).

The OTA programme is  an annual event acknowledging the accomplishments of Bermuda's best. It recognizes excellence in the following categories: scholastic, most progress, incentive, sports, leadership, community service, spiritual leadership, performing arts, visual arts, and outstanding overall.

Schools, churches and organizations nominate teens who then meet with professional panels for interviews.  Each panel selects two category winners: a male and female. There is also an overall winner for the OTA event.

SPECIAL NOTE: We encourage nomination of teens ages 17-19 who meet the requirements in the various categories. Also, thanks to community sponsors, we anticipate a cash award of $750 for all category winners with the exception of the overall winner who receives an award of $2,500.
